For Unemployed New Yorkers, No Recovery in Sight

President Barack Obama signed into a law a bipartisan jobs bill that would provide tax breaks for employers who hire new workers. But for some, it comes too late. Currently, about ten percent of New Yorkers — more than 400000 — are officially listed as unemployed and looking for work. The city’s jobless numbers are expected to stay at ten percent or above through next year. And that doesn’t include those who have given up looking for work. VOA’s Carolyn Weaver reports on the plight of two unemployed New Yorkers at opposite ends of the economic scale.
